Choosing the right Eco Pump for your pool

The prospect of outlaying hundreds of dollars on a new pool pump can be quite daunting. With so many brands and models out there now, deciding on which one is best suited to your pool can be a confusing task, especially when the pump best suited to your needs will most likely differ to that of your neighbour. And with electricity costs always a factor, ongoing running costs are the number one reason to go for an “Eco” option.

Not only do Eco Pumps use less energy when set to a lower speed, it also lowers the flow rate. A lower flow rate takes the pressure off the pool plumbing and other equipment, increasing the service life and further reducing costs. It also improves filtration efficiency and enables automatic chemical dosers and salt chlorinators to operate more effectively - saving on maintenance costs for your pool. It does however take longer to turn over the pool water, and reduces the amount of water going through the filtration system.
