Minerals for your pool

Whether you use regular pool salt, Mineral Swim’s Dead Sea Minerals, or MagnaPool minerals you’ll end up with the same result, chlorine, it just depends on what else you add in to make your water feel soft or be more clear.

Swimming pool chlorinators create chlorine by splitting the chloride part of a molecule using electrolysis to create chlorine.

Mineral Swim’s Minerals are sourced from the Dead Sea which are more than 60% Magnesium Chloride, this give you a good amount of chlorine and the health benefits of Magnesium.

Magnapool minerals are between 20%-40% Magnesium Chloride with the rest made up by Potassium Chloride.

What do pool minerals do?

Magnesium Chloride

The health benefits of magnesium are well-documented and are renowned for soothing the skin and relieving muscle tension. It also converts to to chlorine effectively so is the most common and ideal choice for a salt replacement.

Sodium Chloride

Sodium chloride (salt) is the conventional way to produce chlorine by electrolysis as in your typical salt chlorinator.

Potassium Chloride

Potassium Chloride is an additive that is predominantly used to increase the ability for your chlorinator to produce enough chlorine (if there isn’t enough salt or Magnesium present), this can help in some cases, however, you’ll essentially be paying for a more expensive salt replacement.

So which minerals are right for you?

Of course you can use minerals to generate your chlorine using any brand of minerals you like, however, mineral systems are designed to work with their combination of minerals.

We can give you a personalised pro’s & con’s of each for your particular situation and personal preferences. After all, it’s your pool!

*please check your equipment warranty to ensure the minerals you use are compatible.
