Preventative Pool Maintenance

Even if you don’t get your pool serviced regularly, a preventative maintenance program is a simple and cost-effective way to ensure your pool is in great condition all year round without too much effort!

We’ve been providing preventative pool maintenance for our clients for 40 years, with a few common issues we see year after year from pools that don’t keep on top of ensuring the water is balanced and healthy, which could all be reduced with a monthly dose of some essential chemicals.

Prior to Summer - (October/November)

Add an algaecide to keep algae growth at bay for the next 3 months as the weather & water warms, swimming increases and the risk of an algae outbreak would ruin your swimming time. Most algaecides are effective in your water for up to 3 months.

Every 3 months - (December, April, July, October)

Adding a Clarifier to help your filter pick up the microscopic particles that can bypass your filtration system and cause cloudy water, additional chlorine demand as well as just not being as nice to swim in.

Every 3 months - (January, May, August, November)

We also suggest adding a dose of Aquaguard to prevent staining & scale formation on your pool surface as well as reducing the build-up of calcium on our chlorinator, which impacts chlorine production.

Before and after the Swimming Season (September & February)

Treating your water with Oxyshock will oxidise swimmer waste and remove chloramines (chlorine smell). This is the best way to ensure your chlorine is working effectively to kill algae, bacteria and other organic materials. You’ll also remove the chlorine smell typically associated with heavy use.
